The County Fleadh 2020

Sligo County Fleadh was due to take place in Riverstown, Co. Sligo on the June Bank Holiday weekend . However, as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic all Fleadhanna Cheoil for 2020 were cancelled . As an alternative the County Board committee set about hosting their very first Virtual County Fleadh , A very big thank you to all the musicians, singers and dancers from throughout County Sligo for recording their performances at home. The 90 + performances were curated & edited by Peter Farrell and Micheal O Domhnaill and broadcast live over Facebook on Friday May 29^th and Saturday May 30^th. All proceeds were donated to four very worthy local charities who are all experiencing difficulties with fundraising at this time – Sligo Cancer Support Centre , North West Simon, North West Alzheimer’s Society and Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, Sligo received a total of €5,000 from the event -see acknowledgements and appreciation from the organisations herewith.
